Mahn Mahna wanted a comparison between these 2 subs, since I can't post pics in PM's a figured I would post it here.




Red line is ARC, I took the D4
Orange line is the polk SVC4

First to the left is the sealed comparison both about 0.3cubic\ft. Slight edge of output from the polk from 40hz up to 150hz or so, probably not very audible. I doubt this is the alignment you are looking for though for deep base. As for the below graph, it shows how much power at what frequency each driver can take. Both of them are beasts. The Arc runs out of linear Xmax at 450 watts but as you can see the polk could still take a bunch more power before reaching it's limits of 20mm.

To the right is the ported comparison. Arc is 0.6 but the polk needs much bigger at 1.3cubic feet. Not sure you would want to use the polk in a one cubic foot box... you could almost fit 2 arc's ported in the sealed of one for the polks. Interestingly though, the polk in the bigger box seems to be around 6db louder then the single arc.. so 2 arcs technically could make up the 6db difference but not surpass it (doubling of cones is 3db and doubling power is 3 db). So from what I can tell the one polk could do as well as 2 arc's in the same size box.

Lastly when looking at xmax they can both take 200 to 300watts up to 20hz, you would need a subsonic filter of course. The pale lines are where there is no more xmax.

The polk is 90 online, the arc 140.

yeah one thing i discovered about those 2 drivers is that the sensitivity of the polk is rated at 2.83V VS 1 watt for the ARC. So that mean that the 89dB of the polk is rated a 2w so at one watt it's 86dB.

AAAAAAA did you take this into account?

 

BBP calculates\estimates it from the parameters, so yes it is.
