Polk Audio "SR" line being discontinued

There are a few posts on the Polk forum.

Apparently Polk decided to discontinue the "SR" line. I guess Polk figured there was no money in selling a limited number of high end speakers....makes me wonder if this a sign of things to come.

They stopped making the SR subs a month ago.

Still don't think it's a good thing for the industry as a whole when a company such as Polk cancels its top line.

Typical DEI protocol! They bought Polk a few years ago. After seeing what sells the most, they gut the speciality stuff to make more profit. Sooner or later, it'll just be more DEI junk like PPI, ADS, Orion, Clifford... the list goes on.

A little birdy told me that a reasonably large Polk dealer is dropping their stuff as well.

hmmm...

A company like Polk? Not to offend, but who is Polk in car audio? They haven't been any sort of player in car for 15 years

Innovate, evolve, or die (or in the case of car audio, get purchased by a mega-conglomeration and get d out for what little name recognition you have left )

I sell a LOT of Polk Audio. It's cheap, sounds nice and doesn't usually fall apart.
I used to carry the SR's, but the demand just wasn't that great. It sounded great, but, It's not me that decides what gets to stay, it's the customer.
