Sealed or Ported
Hello all, im new to car audio and i was just wondering if i were to get a sub what type of box would be best, with price being a little cheap. Also just wondering what is the difference between a:
-2 Channel Amp
-Multi-Channel Car Audio Amp
-Mono-Car Subwoffer Amp
-Marine Amp
Thanks for the Help!

A vented box will generally give more output for a given amount of power. A sealed box is easier to build though.
A 2 chanel amp has 2 channels. A mono amp has one channel and generally will make more power into a 2 or 1 ohm load. The choice between the two generally lies in the speaker you want the amp to power.
A Multi channel amp is any amp with more than one channel. Generally it refers to amps with 3 or more channels though.
A marine amp often has a coating on the circuit board and sometimes the heatsink as well that will resist corrosion.

we can't forget the amount of space he's willing to give up. Sealed boxes are smaller, easier to build but have less output(generally speaking). Ported boxes you gotta love those ported boxes. When i swithed from sealed to ported I picked up almost 5db, no amp swap, no sub swap, just the box! I did have to give up most of my trunk though. I'd do it again in a heart beat!
