Started project for my box, yes or no???

Hey guys, just wonderin if I should finish this idea or throw it away. I finally have some time to work on making my enclosure smaller. I am going from 10 cf down to about 7.6 cf. I was given ideas to use books, make small wood boxes, and hard foam cubes wrapped in ductape. Since my box already weighs about 200lbs I went with the foam. Do you guys think this will work? It looks like it will but if you have any ideas of a worst case scenario let me know.

Lol, and if you think this is a really stupid idea go easy on the laughing haha.

I can't see why it wouldn't work - It's going to displace its volume in air, is it not?

Actually I misunderstood your original post...

Sorry.

Foam should work but that's a pretty big downsize... wouldn't it be prudent to make a smaller one and lose 1/4 of the weight?

Good to hear that. I was a little skeptical with out the ducttape on, but now that I have a few full blocks they feel real solid and I think I will be happy. Oh, and I don't have the money, time, or work area to make another box right now so I needed a quick fix.
