Lightbulb Would 30Hz recommended be ok in 28Hz?

I have plans for a pair of subs that will sound very good in a 28Hz ported box. The box has been built more than once (not mine yet) and a few people have given in pretty killer reviews, so that is the one I have in mind.

Problem: I can only get ONE of those new subs quickly, the other has to be ordered in.

So, other than the mounting diameter which is smaller on my current subs, and can be opened up a bit later, I would like to go ahead with the box and mount my current subs in it.

Recommendation for current subs is VERY close on cubes, so no trouble there, and port volume is close. However the new subs want 28Hz, and my current subs want 30Hz according to Infinity.

How do you think it will sound if I throw my Infinities in there while I work on getting the other subs? More importantly, will I damage them by doing this?

I'm asking because one of my sons friends wants my Bassworx box and I said he could have it free (student), but i dont really want to go without bass for too long.

Thank you Rob.

I really wasn't too concerned about hearing any difference (unlikely with me anyway), but more with fscking up the subs when some oddball bass note hit. I might "sell" him the subs for a case of beer or two later, but I wouldn't want them to be damaged, even if I gave them away.

I was going to say. 30hz is the lowest i'll go on a daily setup. i usually tune my enclosures around 35hz-36hz depending on the woofer being used and the power behind it.

They are a mixture, but the subs are known for going very low. I will need to beef up the midbass quite a bit in the doors (so I have been told), and power of 1200 to 1500 WRms is what the subs like, however 1800 to 2000 is pretty common according to the users.
