finalized plans
Dollar hit a 7 year high (or low depending on how you look at it) today.
Great time to travel to the US.
Be sure to check out the arch in St. Louis - quite cool.
You can buy admission into the event - that's part of how they pay for the show. I think it was $10 or something along those lines.
Drive safe, have fun and hopefully we'll see you @ finals.

Well. I registered tonite for finals. There are only 8 competitors registered in Ultra SQi, and that's without splitting up power classes. so in the 1-600 class there might be Myself, Steve and 3 or 4 other guys.
So Wade, you have a good route planned?
If I wasn't so dog tired from work and everything else I'd have trouble sleeping like it's christmas.
You Fellas excited?
And Rob, if someone else is trusting you to take thier kid out of the country in your vehicle please clean up so he doesn't get misplaced in all the mcdonalds containers and loose wires in your car.

Hey guys I see no reason I can't make this show. I am curious which route is West group heading, are you guys meeting the East group somewhere around Illinois? Just trying to confirm what the plan is, I have been reading through posts trying to get "caught up" for the past hour. Can't sleep so I thought I would do some research on this.
Just for anyone that cares I found these directions on the Memphis Cook Convention Center website:
Directions From The North:
Coming in from I-40, take 240 West, from 240 exit back onto I-40 West. From I-40 West exit onto Second and Third Street (Exit 1-A). You will be traveling south on Second Street. At the second traffic light turn right (west) onto Poplar. Entry to the underground parking is on the West side of the main building at Front Street. Turn right (north) from Poplar on to Front Street. Parking is on the right immediately before the next intersecting street.
Directions From The Southeast:
Connect with 240 West, directional sign will say St. Louis. Continue on 240 to intersection with I-40 West (directional sign will say Little Rock, Exit 31-B). From I-40 West exit 1-A onto Second Street and follow directions above.
From West:
Crossing I-40 bridge. Before you leave the bridge take the Front Street. Exit and stay in the north lane. The bottom of the exit ramp is directly across the street from our main building on Front Street. To get to the parking entrance, turn left onto Front Street and the entrance will be on your right immediately before the next intersecting street.

From what I understand West group is leaving Winnipeg October 15th at 11pm? I could probably make it to Winnipeg by midnight on the 15th, because I work nightshift until 7am that day. I will see what the girlfriend wants to do as she will decide anyways
I have a Ford Windstar rented, I would certainly need an extra driver on the way to Nashville if I do meet up with you guys in Winnipeg. Would anyone be available to drive a few hours so the girlfriend and I can sleep? If not I can just meet up with you guys in Nashville, but probably won't arrive until Saturday the 18th then.

The prelim plan was to meet up with the east in IL - but no one from the east ever said anything about to the best of my knowledge.
The route through St. Louis is very similar in terms of distance - general consensus is that it's a bit quicker too as it's way less urban - the greater Chicago area can really slow you down if you pass through at the wrong time of day.
My preference would be to go through St. Louis - it's been quite a while since I was down that way.
I'm sure there'd be enough drivers that somone could help out with driving.
