I'm pulling an infinity comp set out of my friend's car. I can't figure out how they are mounted as someone did all their sound damping over top of the install. Do it mount with screws from inside the door panel? or does the tweet pop off somehow?

I believe they're model 605cs.

If you press and turn counter clockwise on the black part of the tweeter (not the mount around it) then the tweet will separate from the mount and you can now unscrew the mount. I just took my 6000cs comp set out a few minutes ago actually lol.

Did you get them out? Also it depends on how they are mounted as to how to remove them.

The cup would be the large plastic ring on the back side and the surface mount would be twist the tweeter inside that plastic housing to unlock it.

Yes if I remember right it just twist about an 1/4 turn and it should release. Mine don't just pop out I still have to lightly pull on them. But they do come out.

 

Heres a link to the PDF version of the Kappa Series 10.2t instruction manual. It may not be the same tweeter but the manual shows examples of both mounting options that Infinity employs. Hopefully it will provide some insight.
