Found my Gremlin and throat punched him. As far as the goes, ask yourself this. The harness is made for a reason, as a business owner I am not willing to take a chance on a customers car. What kind of guarantee can you give the customer that he will not ever have an issue, at least if I have used the proper parts, I can extend the customer the guarantee that using the proper parts will offer. Maybe you prefer to take chances with your vehicle or customer (if you are in the industry), I definitely will not.

Call a dealer maybe he will tell you the same thing and why don't GM, don't put it in the car manuel, that removing the HU is dangerous, when in that manuel, they write
"everything" that you should not do with the car.

Everyone has there opinion, I myself don't believe in the relocation harness but that's my opinion and my opinion alone it's not up to me to preach to people about it. However on the business side it's smart for the business owner to do this, last thing he or she needs is a pissed off customer with a lawsuit against them cause the somehow found the only glitch possible that could come from not using the proper harness.

Not really, it's more of why a business would use the adapter apposed to taking the risk they have of not using it.

They doesn't make a chime module for nothing. They first came out with a t-harness because they didn't have a chime module to replace the OEM one, but now that they make one it's simpler to install it them try to relocated the HU.

Difficult to relocate the HU huh?

After the factory deck is taken out it took me about 2 mins to connect the new harness to the factory wiring, connect the other end to the factory deck, hide the factory HU in the rear drivers side quarter behind the trim (fits perfect and not visible at all) and connect the new chime and zip it up under the dash.
