1500w RMS @ 2ohm amp options.

Well a friend is looking for an amp for his Diamond Audio sub. The sub is a 1500 watter.. with dual 4ohm coils..
I was thinking a ZR1000 since they can do 1300 or so at 4ohms bridged.. but I heard they can do 2ohms briged to and have a little more output. IS that true?
It needs to be really cheap.. so used is a must. If there are any good amps.. and anybody here is selling any.. any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

ZR1000's are actually rated less at 2ohm than at 4ohm when bridged. 700rms@2ohm vs. 1000rms@4ohm.
Let's see; 1500watts, 2ohm, quality amp, cheap......I would suggest the RF bd1500 or MTX 1500/81000. The Memphis ST-1500D/M1500D is also a great choice but you'll find a better price on the RF and MTX.

What's your definition of REALLY CHEAP !??! Used really cheap usually leads really quickly to the garbage receptical.

I just visited a dealer of mine in Richmond called Vader Speed & Sound & they have a used Kicker ZR1000 for sale. I believe they have it for $499. If you give them a call, tell them their Pioneer rep sent you!

There is a guy on a local board selling a Pioneer PRSD3000SPL (1000 watts at 2 ohms) never used for $300, and he is throwing in a 4awg amp kit also. 1000 watts enough? I would give you the link, but you need to be registered to view it. Here is a cut and paste:
i'm selling this PRSD3000SPL Pioneer Premier Mono Amplifier.
its rated at 2000W max with an RMS rating of 1000 @ 2 ohms.
it's never been used and is still in original packaging. i'm selling it because i could use the money for other things. i believe it retails in stores in the $800 range. but its probably gone down in recent months. i will sell it for the first $300 offer, but no lower.

^^ Holy crap!! The PRS-D3000SPL is a current model for 2006 & it does retail for $799. I run two of them in my car & even with my sample discount I can't even buy one for that price!
That amp is the baby brother to the PRS-D5000SPL which powers the world record holding Edge Audio/Pioneer Ford F250 at 180.5 dB.
Kind of blows away my suggestion of the ZR1000...

Be wary of things being sold cheap. There's usually a reason...... unless you are really lucky and the guy is a moron.
