Unfortunately, to get a 1 ohm load, you'll need another one of those subwoofers. Then you would wire them both in parallel.

See http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/ohm.htm and http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/spkrmlti.htm for more info ...

The sub you have is a dual 4 ohm coil sub(im pretty sure)... you can run it in parallel or series to either get a 2 or 8 ohm load... you can wire the coils in series to get an 8 ohm load or parallel to get the 2 ohm.... you can not hurt the subs at all by running different loads... its the amp... but if you want to get the 1 ohm load you said did you would need to buy another dual 4 ohm sub and wire them in parallel...
I think this is right?

Thumbs up

http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/cgi/...c;f=3;t=006657

thats the link to the other post i made ...tells what amp i gettin and what amp i have and the sub i am lookin to get!

</font>
  • Most likely steering towards the Pioneer Premier TS-W1041DVC 400 Watt RMS</font>
  • And the amp I am getting is propably the a Lanzar 800Watt Class D (already have a 1200 Watt Pyramid PB880)</font>
  • The Pyramid will probably run my mids/highs though ...it is a Pyramid after all so its probably only gonna push 200 WattRMS</font>
  • The Lanzar Amp is 800 Watts x 1 @ 1 ohm so I dunno if it will be able to push the single Sub at 2 ohms?</font>

Amps can always push a higher resistance ... Just not with as much power ...

If you have to, without changing your setup, you can always get a Veritas Accumatch. You can switch the impedance down to 1 ohm.
