2-way vs 3-way

Here is a simple question:

How is a 2-way component better or worse than a 3-way component?

Same goes for a 6x9, 2-way vs 3-way?

I am running a Alpine IVA-D900 with no amp. What should I be getting?

The number of ways in a speaker does not make one either better or worse. A kwality speaker might be a 5 way and cost $40.00 yet the quality speaker may be a 2 way and cost $400.00. Sometimes your speaker choice is going to be determined by the speaker locations in the vehicle, your budget, the degree of installation you want, the results you seek. If you are going to be doing new speakers, a amp is in your future. Add me to msn and message me if you like, you will be saving me from working on the tablesaw and it is cooking hot here today.
