2005 dodge install help

we tried putting a headunit in my friends, 2005 dodge 2500 cummins truck last night, the harness fit fine, but appears to me no remote turn on for the facotry amp, there was one wire, but it made the check engine light come on.
Any input,?

Does it have the Infinity System in it?

Oh Dodge has done one better they have a 7 speaker (infinity) and 4 speaker amplified system now.

look up in behind the glovebox (through the top with it open) if there is an amp there, you need to wire your speakers up there.

I thought 05 and up trucks used a can bus system now and you need to bypass the factory amp to put a head unit in [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

dodgeram sounds right, one wire when it goes to 12 volts the gauges says no bus . yes it does have the infinity sound, and it seems the headunit only have 2 speacker feeds comming out of it,
