2nd battery in trunk question

Should a second battey in the truck be deep cycle and can I just buy one from canadian tire instead of a kinetik. I can get a 100ah deep cycle for 100 bucks at CT. That would be the same ah as a 1400 kinetic I think. Oh and is it ok to have this battery contsantly hooked up in parallel with my starting battery?

as long as the batt is non spillable, or sealed, you'll be okay. unless you enjoy acid fumes while you drive
