300 dollars to spend on mids and highs
I wasn't sure which section to post this in because I have alot of questions. Right now my car stereo consists of a JBL W15 GTi in a custom built box tuned to 32 Hz ontop of a floor in the back where my seat used to be. My deck is a Sony MEX-BT5000 and my amp is an Earthquake PHD5000. At the moment it's just stupid loud and I'd like a little more quality. My plan was to get a couple RL-i 8's in another custom built box facing up in the space that is left between my other box and my front seats. This could add a lot for drum kicks because right now there's absolutely nothing with a 15". I already have an Ultimate 800 watt amp that's one ohm stable but has a little bit of damage to it (still works but doesn't look to great and the plastic on the ground terminal is broken). I was then going to get some 6.5" speakers and tweeters because right now I have factory speakers and my car is 20 years old...ahh... finally I would sound deaden the car and I would be done! I know next to nothing about sound cancellation and what not so let me know what you think. I have 300 right now that I can spend on the next part for my system. I was thinking of getting the RL-i..would this be the wrong thing to get next? Thanks for the advice in advance.

so far what you said sounds good but i would put the RLi8 in the doors and mids in kick pods. just make sure the door is sealed as much as possible.
but since you only have 300$ at the moment i would do new 6 1/2 speakers first. not sure what would be great for you at that price range but go check around shops and listen to speakers in your price range to see whats good for you
