hey guys, i'm looking to get some infinity speakers... my door is stock 5 1/4"... is it too much trouble to pop in a pair of 6 1/2" speakers in there? or should i stick with buying a 5 1/4" pair? i'll won't be doing it myself, i just don't wanna be charged an arm and a leg for custom work when i bring it into a shop.. so i guess the question is is it more expensive to get a 6" speaker installed over the custom 5...

my car is an 89 olds cutlass supreme... thanks...

also, where's a good place to take my car too? i don't wanna get raped.

I'm not sure about the cutlass, does the whole door panal come off? if so its a easy task, just build a template, make the new hole size 6 1/2" and be sure that the magnet is at least 5" or smaller or you will have to trim the steel outfor it to fit through the doors inner steel frame.

I personally like to have a template anyhow, you can deaden it and your not drilling right into the metal surface, this can cause you to ground between the speaker and metal frame.

advice from me would be to secure the templat to the door then secure the speaker to the template, much easier then trying to do both with the same screws.
