The DD1508 retails for $259.99 CDN, a little less from enterprising authorized dealers. That 1008 really does wail, absolutely thundered.

Try an Infinity 8" ... it has a "basket-over-magnet" design which dramatically reduces the mounting depth. I used them on an Infinity Mustang about 2 years ago. they went in the doors real nice!... that is after we sealed up the crap-tastic OEM door chambers... but yeah... those are the shallowest ones i can think of right now..... my brain's a little mush ..... I had a 1964 Volkswagen Transporter in for an alarm, accompanied by a very picky customer...... why can't i have stamped on my forehead....

I'm currently using an Elemental Designs 8" - eD 9kV.2 - its a DVC and can be ordered as a dual 2 or dual 4 ohm.
I don't know the rated specs - I bought it when eD just released to the public. I remember seeing a few specs on their web page that rated it somewhere between 250 - 400wrms. I'm currently giving it a little bit over 300wrms in a ported enclosure and it performs great!
(When my father heard it and did know what it was, he guessed that I had 2 15s in my car . . . but that's probably because he's over 60 and has no clue about audio advancements in the last 30 years).

Just to add a few brands that also make great 8's the JL w7, and the kicker L7 (L5). Great volume and good sound too (JL has better SQ IMO)
