ai net and rca
#11
Quick question for those that know. If I am using the ainet with a pxa-h701, does the head unit's rca outs still function? In other words can I use the rear rca outs from the deck in addition to the pxa's outs. I'd like to keep my rear fill, and have a 3way( tweet, mid, bass) up front using the rear pxa outs as the front bass band pass. Set up would be; center front channel, front tweet, mid, bass, rear fill, subwoofer. As you see it's 10 channels, and the pxa has 8 channels. I know I can do it if I use the rca inputs from the pxa, but I'd like to retain the ai-net advantages. Thanks in advance.
p.s does not mention anything about it in the head unit's manual or the pxa's.

The head unit RCA's will become fixed outputs when connected to a PXA. Basically they are outputting without volume control. You can use a passive RCA control for them perhaps...
Hope this helps!

Sounds good. It will give you the extra output needed. I guess as long as the mid/tweeter aren't too far from each other their combined path lengths may work out just fine when T/Aing. You'll know when tuning it! It would be interesting for an A/B comparison between though... if you have the time of course.
Sounds like a fun system!

Yeah he deserved a little belittling. By the way CoreyC, he actually said, "when you listen to recorded music there is no mic behind the musician. rear fill is for grandpa in the back. or rear fill is for surround sound theatre." Now, this is all incorrect in my case as I have multi channel music, which has 5.1 discreet channels of recording, including specific rear channels. I don't have a grandfather anymore, and no screen for car theatre in my car. See what happens when you ASSume.
