Alero trunk

Six 12's won't fit, I don't know how I got that, but three will in a triangle. If I cut the bottom of the rear deck it can be 17" high but it looks like that's where the entire thing is welded together. To get 32" front-rear I'll have to cut a 2x3"ish corner into the seat at the top of the box, I don't want any wack <90 degree angles. 17 x 32 x 32 with 1" MDF is 7.8 cuft! How sturdy do I want a box for 3 12's and 5000W, should I double baffle that? Is this enough l/w/h space? What do you seal aero's with? The styrofoam is where the aero's would be. I think I'll buy Xcons when they get more specs. Has anyone ever used up-fire like this or have any thoughts on it?

You going to have them fire up in the Alero? Wow, this should be interesting
I know there's height but I would have never thought there is enough height to fire up.
Maybe I gotta talk to Jalat but a new box ... next year

There is a couple inches between sub and trunk, depends on where the woofer sits, I might have to sink it .25" and use 1" for all sides, it'll be close.

20" from ground to metal, box is 17, -2 for sides, thats 15, sub is 8-10 long I guess. At full tilt, 31mm, there should be .75" from the cone to the metal if its sunk in .25" if the woofer is 1" tall after the box... should be enough.

firing up in the trunk it going to beat the out of your trunk lid but not direct the sound towards you inside the front of the cabin.
I personally have experimented in a taurus firing into the cabin and rear firing and still think standard rear firing sounds and works best even if you do loose some spl. The ports through the rear deck would still be pretty cool to see.

Can't slide in 17 x 32 x 32 from the outside. Have to take out the rear seat and go that way which I havn't measured either. The max you can slide a box in from the trunk is 15.5" high. Martini glass?

I measured about 16.5" but I have the 2-Door, not sure if there's a trunk difference ...
And I didn't feel comfortable taking out the back seats ... and again, you're going to hit the metal/plastic part of the body (that you hae covered in your picture) ... aka its a reduced height so the "LARGEST" opening might be from the trunk opening itself, even if you take the seats out. I don't know.
I put a lot of thought into it a few weeks back so ...
I mean, you could always put the final pieces together INSIDE the trunk
Then nobody will ever be able to get it out I call that theft patrol

I measured the door space and it's 17 x 32 maximum so that was lucky, I'll have to take the door and seat off also, so there's an anti-theft. If I mess with the deck I can fit 37" wide, 32" deep for up-fire & 28-30" for rear-fire and 17" high, but I'd be cutting off all of this, is this where everything is welded together? I don't want to be rolling and have the entire rear of the car fall off. I'd rather use 2 15's and rear fire, cheaper and whatnot.
At 17 x 32 it would be just touching the seat, this is with 1-2" from the rear also.
How important is it that the trunk is sealed off? Does that mean the entire box has to be in the trunk and the trunk is sealed off with a wall, or can the box be sticking out a bit with the trunk still sealed?
