17 x 32 x 37 with 1" mdf is 9.115 cuft and 9.712 with .75". How short can a box be with 15's? For that the MDF has to be .75" if the diameter of the sub is 15.5" for 17" total. Obviously they'd be mounted very close to the sides, is that OK?

Would propably have to find new weld points or something. With all the carpet in it looks like it'll only allow for 32" width but it's 37" at the bottom! Measure the wheelwell without the carpet in the way. Too bad they don't make trunks with this in mind.

Yup, 32" is the measurement I gave Jalat if I remember correctly.
It's a crazy a$$ design that drives me nuts but at the end of the day, I fit a good amount of stuff in there. The only thing is, its just not subwoofer-box friendly

Like I said, just make sure you can get the damn thing in. Once its IN, you're good.

How do I build inside the trunk? Which pieces do you install first? You can build a box in the trunk that's 19.5h x 37w x 24d with 2" for xmax not including the cone height which sits at maybe an inch, and you could sink them .25", it might be .5" away from hitting the back. I'd like to use 2 15's rearfire with the aeroport but I don't see how I could get a screw driver or glue in there.

Make two boxes....... take out the spare tire and fibreglass the bottom and put a solid top on it. Measure it up for air volume, might get around 2 cubes out of it in most new cars, sometimes more. Make the second box to couple onto the top of it. Bolt it together in the car before the subs are installed. Seal the inner seams to prevent them from leaking. End result is big box and better use of available airspace.

I did this in a Neon back in 2000 and the results were amazing. Ports went up through the rear deck, subs fired forwards and there was a copious amount of space left over in the trunk for the amp rack and luggage.

I'm going to go the easier route and buy 2 good 12's, a bunch of power, and seal it all off from the trunk and fire foreward, flared port forward, is 2.5 x 14.5 x _? enough port area or is 3 x 13.5 x _ better? The box I guess would be 1" MDF double baffle and braced (PTS box ), 15.5 high, 32-32.5 across, ? deep and .5" between the subs. I could go 16.5" high but I like the idea of the subs being all within .5" of the walls with 32" to the back of the trunk. Is it better if the box wall is lengthy or high?

So here are my options.

15/16/16.5h x 32/32.5w x 32d .5/.75” spacing 2.5/3” x 13.5/14.5" x ? port with 1”MDF.
