With respect to staging Christian:
I'm having issues with my stage actually being too high. This has nothing to do with the tweeter installation, as when I play just my mids, parts of the sound stage have too much height to them. I've also found that my center image is extremely focused, but the soundscape moving further left or right of center loses focus. It's still knock your sockes off imaging, but I'd like to create a more uniform soundstage.
Check my sig and you'll understand what's going on.

Mind you it's not really going to work unless you heavily attenuate the second set of tweets otherwise you're gonna have major phasing issues. But if done properly it just fills out front of the car better.. almost like a center channel.

Very nice work Christian. The finish matches up really well, and it appears theres lots of room for that 4" mid to work.
I think you are the first person I've ever seen having a larger tweeter than a midrange in a car though.
Just a general note to anyone working on an E46 chassis door: The coupe and sedan door panels are different. There is slightly less depth to the sedan interior trim panel, and the sedan door is about 2/3rds the length of the coupe door. If you are going to build out from the existing door panel to mount a midbass driver, be aware of where the glove box drops down to. It's very close to the existing door panel.
Nice clean work on the dash too. Just an easy tip for you though: You can relocate the HVAC controls down to where your H700 display is really easily. You'll find it easier to read and operate the H700 display that way.

i know putting this tweet in car is kinda odd and difficult, but what can i say i loveee this tweet .
the midbass is already inside the door panel right now adam.
mounted to the door frame, just like yours, but i didnt cut the door panel (just like stock).
i know about the HVAC controls, the reason i put the h701 is because the h701 will look odd if i put it below my HU. and for security reason h701 is better down there (we cannot really see it from outside, my HU is bling2 enough )

so right now we will try to fix the imaging with tuning.
good luck MDT-6-6-8 intallation (that will be difficult).

I think what you did do with the head unit and H700 controler is very nice. It's actually a good step above what I've done.
I am going to do a tuning session eventually where I describe what I'm changing, graph it with the RTA, and give a summary of what I'm hearing from the changes. Basically, I'll walk right through the whole car from ZERO setings, through to final EQ. That process itself should help both of us understand the E46 a bit better.
