well what about the colors? I'm interested in the both of them, but if I can change the 9833's colors to match my interior then I'll go with that to save some dough.

Perhaps the presets didn't stay put, because after you make eqing changes, you gotta save them to one of the presets, kind of like saving a profile. If you don't save them after you change them, then poof, they're gone.
I had a 9831, and after getting used to the different fuctions, it was very easy to use.

i just had a couple questions.
when maknig an MP3 cd to play, from what i understand you can burn a "data" cd and sort the songs by putting them into folders. is this right?

also, is it possible to burn MP3's on a CDRW and be able to play that in the alpine deck?
or is it just one or the other?
