when installing the deck with stock speakers, is there anything to look out for?
also, what guage wire is recommended to power and ground the head unit?

distortion will likely be the death of those factory spkrs unless you listen to them at a moderate volume
as for the power and ground they are 18g
and your factory wires are prob 20-22g
(unless of course you drive a vw)
you should be ok to use a metra harness adapter.
