If 45rms x4 will work for you I guess so....is it alot cheaper then a similar powered full sized amp like say the Alpine F300(50rms x4)? what is your wants with the ktp-445? Does it still need an amp kit or does it just clip into the head unit? I personally can't say how they are for sound and tweaking...but the F300 gives you the hpf/lpf features to possibly help your mid range.

the ktp-445 is pretty much plug and play. Just attach one end from the power source and the other on the back of the deck. I am just looking for better mids as the deck has very very minimal adjustments/tuning.

Well the ktp has NO tuning capabilites....it's power pure and simple, nothing for tweaking the sound(from anything I could find online) it will only make all frequencies louder...You might want something else, however if your hooked on it give it a wack and let us know how it worked out for you.

I figure at least get the speakers amped first. The price and installation is not bad at all for what i have heard from other posts. It just sucks how i would have to pay the amount of another deck in parts just to have this one tuned in anyway.

I hear ya on the money part, it was what turned me off Alpine when I was building my setup, don't get me wrong Alpine is good but the nickel and diming for EVERY little thing kinda bugged me. I don't see it as a company dedicating higher quality components into their decks. Call me a cynic, def. see if any shops do the imprinting for a nominal fee.
