And a 2ohm load is more efficient. On that amp its like getting 200watts for free. stephenfleming is right if it is too much for you just turn it down and tune it properly!

Yes it will be easier on your cars electrical system because of the lower imperdence.

I assume that was sarcasm as consuming more power will not be easier on the electrical system.. I am not saying it will be (if you operate it a low power as is being recommended) just that the statement is fundamentally not true. Frankly if you have more cone surface area and more power I serious doubt you will not take advantage of it.

Get the Type R again, since you do like them. Throw a speaker grille on it for protection and run it at 2 ohms, then tune it properly or even get a shop to help you tune it. As for your dimming issues you can always try a capacitor. there designed to provide power when its required and there not too costly.
