i have installed 6 or 7 of them, i have tried 1.5, 1.25, and 1, gross net internal volume, and the differences were minimal, perhaps inaudible. we just finished a 1970 mach 1 with x12's and it was friggin mental, we used a mrdm501 per woofer. break that woofer in first, i used 20 volts at 22 hz for 12 hours on all the ones we used, i would build the 1.25, net 1.05, and you will be fine, you are going to love that woofer, btw im talking abou the 12", i would recommend the 12", dont forget to brace the shiznit out of your box

sealed is the optimum box for that woofer, you can no doubt get more output vented, but i would question the quality of bass and you would have avent a million miles long. if i remember i think the f3 in the 1.25 sealed was below 40, i will check later and repost

yeah Alpine rep recommended a 1.8 ported box.. it will give the output I'm after, but i question the quality as well.
I wanted to fire it through the center of the rear deck too... 1.8 is too large and bulky to pull that off..
This is the part I hate about new systems.. I spend a week mullin over details

Ross said they have done 3 vented in Winnipeg
Its tuned low to 32hz..
Done in civic hatch
Civic coupe
and older Lincoln Continental..
Obviously it dug really well, and they were happy with the SQ as well..
I've done low tuned ported boxes in the past and i was very happy with the output.. but never the sound..
I'm still leaning on sealed

nope, and dont plan on it, they work far to good sealed, and if it aint broke.....in my experience woofers designed for sealed box, applied vented give you more output, but the sound sacrifice isnt worth it, to me
