Alternater wine through speakers?
I've installed a Kenwood KAC 8404 4 channel amp. I have a high pitched "alternater wine" comming through the speakers though. The car audio shop down the street from my place said that it was due to not enough ground going through the pre out cables and I would know it was the problem because if i put a small cable from ground on the amp to the shell 'negative' terminal on one of the pre outs it would go away... well when i did this, it go louder...
Anyone know how to git rid of this? it is very annoying and the only way to overcome it is to turn the volume up, which isn't so much a downside, but when i have other people in the car and the volume is down... it's very annoying.
Someone please help me!!! lol. if anyone knows how to fix this anything would be appreciated.
I would fail if i entered a SQ comp.
Thanks guys

It's all your equipment......... it's bad. Sell it all and buy new stuff from that Car Audio Shop.......... I'm surprised they didn't tell you this.
Anyways, it's usually a grounding issue. Re-check all your grounds (head unit, amps, processors ,etc). Start with the head unit. Even try re-grounding the head unit somewhere else........... amps and processors as well. Keep the length of your ground wires short and ensure that you are making a very good connection to the car chassis. Also make sure you're using appropriately sized ground wires. Don't ground out your 10K watt amp with a 24 gauge wire................. Start with that.

I'm thinking then that i'll have to ground my HU again... the amps are well grounded trust me lol. but not enough ground with the HU could be the situation. now. where should i throw that extra ground... and maybe use 12G wire for that? i wouldn't need anything bigger then that would I?

... well... I ran my RCA cables on the opposite side of the car from the power cable... but... I still have a very slight wine, and now i have a slight clicking sound... should i still try adding a ground to my deck. and i'd be just attaching an extra ground wire to the ground (Black) wire on the wireing harness? And at some point i want to check out my main ground for the amps and possible sand it down, i believe there might be a little corrosion, but i havn't looked recently.
Not in the mood to check the ground there yet, not till it maybe gits a little nicer out...

Another question... would a power cap (after checking the ground) make this sound go away moreso completely?

nope, both amps are secured to the sub box. grounded to the rear seat ancher bolt. the only thing i could think of is some corrosion around that ground point. which i'll look at when the weather gits nicer. but i can live with it now, i don't have the high pitched wine anymore that i can clearly hear.
