My subwoofer amp goes into protect mode every so often when the bass hits deep or the volume is up a little bit. The level is only on about half way and it is not even bumping very hard, but still cuts out. WHat could the problem be? should my sub level on my deck be set to high ie 9/9.. or should i have the gain setting for my amp higher?? THe system works fine until it hits certain notes then it goes into protect mode..Also, i have a level ****, a lpf ****, and a hpf ****. How should these be set?

THanks.

is it right to metal and not paint.... or a seatbelt bolt...??? also don't have it 9/9 more like 5/9 and adjust your gains as such... is this amp just for the sub?? and I believe the HPF should be off.... correct if I'm wrong and the LPF all depends somewhere between 30-50 hz

BARE METAL!

Turn that sub level to Zero. Set gain accordingly. Turn off the HPF, and I would set the LPF anywhere from 60-120hz depending on what subwoofer we are talking about & what you have for midbass.
