is this amp good for my sub?
I was wondering if Alpine MRP-M450 would be allright to power an Alpine Type R (SWR-1021D) 2ohm DVC sub? I need one that will push it at 4ohm. But specs say the amp does 220 rms at 4ohm however the sub is 300w rms.
What do you guys think? Will that be suffucient or would I be underpowering?

Ok, guys I need some more input from you. I am now looking at Alpine MRV-T420 2 channel A/B type amp against MRP-M450 they're same price used. The T420 pushes 340w RMS x 1 into 4ohm or 170w RMS x 2 into 2ohm but M450 only 220w RMS x 1 into 4ohm. Also I was wondering about efficiency... I understand someone have mentioned before tha D-class amps are about 80% more efficient than A/B type. So would M450 be pushing the sub better with less power than the T420 with more power? Please help me understand this and choose the right one.
So which one of these would better suite my Type R sub ?

Yes that means class D amps can be smaller, and give out more power per amps drawn
What he was asking though was if somehow the class D amp with less power would push is sub harder because it was more efficient
Simple answer, NO,
I would go with the 2 channel for that sub
