Question

My subwoofer amp puts out 1300 watts into 2 ohms and 850 watts into 4 ohms. Does anyone know how to calculate how many watts i would get from it at 8 ohms? You don't need a huge explanation of how to get the answer but it would be nice to know how you figured it out.

Thnx very much for any help.

Judging from 850 at 4ohms, it should do 425 or slightly more into 8ohms...

The reason you don't get 1700 into 2 ohms is because the amp's supply voltage sags with the heavy current demands...

^^ what he said. if you have a digital multi meter you can get a better idea of the actual output of your amp according to this clicky

i used this method on my orion amp and it said it was putting out just over its rated power
