Question

After my front stage amp went into protection and worked off and on,in particular when I played with the power/ground/remote hook up,I took the amp apart and there it is...

A broken soldier...

Now,I'm sure this is no big deal to fix,but one thing I'm not entirely sure on..

What kind of soldier should be used for repairing a broken soldier on a circuit board?

Thanks to who ever can answer this..

Do you mean a broken trace? for most circuit board repairs, a good 60/40 solder will work fine.

I know this is a really crappy pic(I'm hoping Santa will bring me a new one that works half decent),but this is the best one of 10..

on the left of the board there is three soldier points..the one on the furthest left is the one thats broken...

And when you say 60/40..you mean rosin core?

You gotta fix a broken soldier eh... Sounds like a Bruce Willis movie to me...

You may not need to add any solder, once you heat up the point the existing solder that is there should just crawl to where it is needed. But yes, just have a small piece of solder ready, anything will work since you're just adding a bit to some that's already there, rosin core is fine.

can't really tell from the pic... but if its a cold solder joint or broken solder etc. just reheat the old solder like what Gizzz said. and maybe add more solder. (rosin core 60/40)

Trying to redo a bad solder joint by simply reheating the solder won't work worth a ****. When it was originally soldered they used solder paste which is filled with flux, once everythings heated the board is soldered and the flux is burned/cleaned away. If you try to just reheat the old solder it might make a half assed connection, but you really should clean off as much as possible, flux the connection, resolder the joint, then clean it off with some thinner or alcohol.
