Hey i just picked my 9835 deck up today along with a IPOD adapter, and have my Siruis adapter on the way, im trying to finilize my cars "interior" including the sound system so next is replacing the stock component speakers, its a Mazda Mx6 (second gen) im almost 100% sure the tweeters are 1", but i have set a limit on what im going to spend on a set of speakers and that limit is 600CAD, so i was wondering whats the best set of speakers (COMPONENT ONLY!), a buddy of mine has $2000 Focals, they nothing short of WOW, so i have already looked at ~600 doller focals, i was not overleyt impressed, so if anyone can shoot out some suggestions that will fall into my budget, (i need to paint and turbo this car for spring)

i LOVE focal, its just, when i heard the 600 dollar ones next to the high end ones, it souded very weak, i was assured it was powered correctly, but it started to distort alot more at high levels, were the 2000 dollar ones, volume didnt faze them, REAL clear at any volume, the 600 dollar ones, not as nice, as to be expected, still kick *** speakers, just not what im going to bye, also im looking at a SET of infinty kappas, those sounded pretty refined.

Ok well that stuff is pretty cheap, i want to spend more than 20 on tweaters, i mean im not looking to make a crappy setup, im willing to spend more than that, so lets say i get the Seas W18ex-001 and some tweater, that makes it a component setup right? dont i need that crossover thing component speakers come with to ajust stuff and what not?

and i heard the 2000 dollar ones ona board and the 600s ona board, i have also heard the 2000s in a car aswell as a lower end set of focals, nothing changes, i understand they sound alot diffrent in a car, but PLAIN AND SIMPLE they are not for me. i was not impessed.

will my external amps work, im not powering any speakers off my deck, i mean the thing that the woofer and tweater will wire into, is that not called a cross over? also 600 is a budget i want to utilize the full budget not 1/3rds of it. also, i plan to have my sub woofers hooked up, does that change anything?

Don't let the price of that tweeter fool you. granted there is better out, but that LPG is a great tweeter.

The seas W18ex-001has a fairly low ceiling for crossing over to a tweeter, I have had issues with tweeters going that low, I recommended that W18, along with the Lpg 26na and the Aura NS3 to fill in the gaps, is a 3 way setup totally out of the question?

regards, Mark
