I want IASCA to grow in CANADA and it takes more then myself or Moe to make it happen. It takes a team of people and lots of dedication to make it happen in a counrty of this size.
^^^^^^^ i tried and iasca made it impossible to even consider it due to cost.....you know whats funny....we hosted 1 iasca sanctioned show and i was asked to judge even though i wasnt certified but now that i was interested in it the tell me its going to cost me a mitfull of money to do because i suppose its not convienient for them like it was when they were stuck with a sanctioned show without a judge.....its hypocritical and ignorant.......we are more than willing to help promote the sport like noones else is on the westcoast, they should be happy to join forces with us but the sillyness of it all it laffable.....iasca can stay dead out west and they have noone to blame but themselves.....the little bit i asked from them is far cry from the investemnet we put into our shows every year.....maybe they should learn to crawl before they walk.......until then.....non sanctioned iasca spl and daves sq rules it is

i realize more than probobly just about anyone that shows cost money...lots of it......we asked for free sanctioning for our shows....thats 600 dollars.....i think with growth they would see by doing this would far outweigh 600 in sanctioning fees but in typical iasca sillyness....apparently that was impossible......btw this whole iasca judges certs are hard to get is funny.....i got my first one for a case of beer and thats when iasca was in its heyday......not whats its becomeOriginally Posted by Father Yuli

that's the reality of it homeboy. Db Drag sanction fee is like over $1000 for a multi point show. It's just retarded. Originally Posted by defro13

Imagine what its like holding IASCA or Db Drag show if you are not a judge? U gotta pay the fee and then pay the judge on top of that.
If the org doesnt wanna work with you try working with yourself. You got a mic? Set up your own circut. We have CSPL here in Ontario, it works out pretty well. Had like 20 something shows last season alone.
we will just forge on ahead with daves sq, the BEST sq format in the world in my unbiased opinion and the iasca spl format......at least i tried but every once in a while i need a refresher on why sanctioning shows is a waste of time...and by the creative judging i saw at the 2 iasca events i attended....they could use another judge or 2

So if I understand you correctly, IASCA should ignore all the fees, rules, and proceedures it has set in place and throw them out the window because we have promoters out WEST who are going to hold shows. IS THIS CORRECT! I just want to be on the same page as you so I can figure out where the confusion is.
AND LASTLY I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU WHO YOU TALKED TO AT IASCA? BECAUSE IT SURE WASN'T ME, AND I AM THE ONE YOU WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO IN CANADA ABOUT SHOWS, JUDGES TRAINING, FEES ETC.
SO UNTIL YOU TALK TO ME I DONT GET YOUR RIFT.
Judges training in the past used to be easy and pretty much anyone could become one. Todays training is more detailed and involved and can take up to two days to complete. Then once you pass there is a regular evaluation to make sure each judge is only judging the classes they have experience in.
Were trying to make all the judges we have more consistant and fair and that all starts with good training and keeping our judges up to date with current rule changes.
Just because someone thinks they have a good ear does not make them a expert onhow to evaluate sound in a car.
I am not sure what Daves SQ is all about but I am all for people having fun in the lanes and I wish the series the best of luck.

yes you inderstand me correctly.....im suggesting they ignore the fees this year and create a partnership with me to host sanctioned iasca shows in markets that there hasnt been a sanctioned iasca event in probobly 10 years......we are committed to doing this but robert, your westcoast iasca promoter, who btw isnt lighting it up out here with promoting your brand is out of his mind if he thinks anyone out west is going to pay to go across counrty to become a judge and pay to sanction the events as well.......and 2 days to become a judge is ludicrous....your are out of your mind......2 maybe 3 perhaps four hours at the absolute most......gimme the scoresheet.....gimme the disc.....actually i already have it......inform me of rule changes by email or internet..........and as far as im concerned im already more than qualified......i wish iasca was the way it was before.....it was fun, now its just an irritant......kinda sad....but unfortunately true

The trainings I do all over the world and at home do take ONE FULL DAY...PERIOD. I wish I could shorten them but if you ask anyone in ONTARIO who has been attending the trainings year after year I am sure they will tell you that the day is jam packed and it does in fact take a full day.
I only said Two days for training to you, as there has not been a certified training out there for a very long time. I am also sure there are way more people then just yourself who arent as experienced as you are who will want to attend a IASCA training. One day could be used to go over the rule book and proceedures(which is a typical training) but we could design a second day for a more serious question and answer day with some IDBL training as well. I am sure this would be very useful for those who want to take advantage of this.
Defro I am not saying you arent qualified to judge, all I am saying is that everyone has to take the proper training to judge, whether you feel it is valid or not.
Our trainings are very informative and can be valuable to anybody who wants to learn about car audio. Some people come out to simply learn more while others come out to become entry level Certified IASCA judges.
Your perceptions of IASCA are duely noted and I take everyones comments very seriously, but what I will not stand for is people who state we are just IRRATANT. I take my business very seriously and I have put more hours in for free then anyone will ever know simply to try and give back to the industry that has helped me for so many years.
I have said this before and I will say it again, I am more then willing to have a conversation with you or anyone else who would like to set up a judges training. I will discuss with them the cost involved and how to budget the event.
AND as for the sanctioning fees. Single point events cost a measly $25.00.

Maybe Im not to involved in this stuff, but Wouldnt you think that As long as someone can host something like this in your area you would be happy its there and not complain?? Im not getting into detail or anyhting cuz i dont have time to waste on trying to Flame about something that doesnt deserve that much of my brain capacity, Instead of fighting and flaming why doesnt everybody just taker easy, Try to find way to help, rather then putting it down. From what Ive read I dont know what the problem is with puttin a few days of your life into learning something. Especially if its something you love so much? It really shouldnt phase you. I mean If its munny your stretched out for then Dont do it! =D Anyways its late, Im tired. Hope everything gets sorted out, Always does. HAPPY SQ'ing!
