Another subbox thread..
Another subbox thread..
Well, I'm getting rid of my sunfire because it cant stay in one piece (I had the head gasket replaced, and now the clutch is gone [only 150K])
I managed to snag a 2001 nissan sentra se with less then 30K on it and it was only driven during the summer months (it was my grandparents
)
Anyways,
The question at hand is what I should do for a sub box.
The music I listen to is mainly metal (thrash), which the bass is very fast, or 'tight'. Really, its more so heavy on the midbass; maybe one day I'll own a pair of MLK 165's.
So I was told that a sealed enclosure is the only way to go other wise it will just sound muddy. However, reading this forum many of you seem to recommend a ported box any ways. Or should I stick with sealed?
What kind of tuning on the box would I want to achieve this?
This build is definitely more SQ then SPL (just because every one states this in their thread)
From alpines site, I don't see any recommendations on box size for ported (or sealed).
Sub: Alpine type-R 10''
Sub amp: Alpine MRP-M500 500W rms.
Thanks for the help.
