Any tricks on removing resin from hatch?
#1
I had a sub box made for my wifes car (Protege5) about three years ago and the back end of the box was glassed to fit snug on the side of the hatch. Well, we're selling the car now and I just removed the box for the first time in three years and what do I see.....some resin dried up on the side of the trunk/hatch area.
The stuff is super hard and ordinary cleaners aren't doing anything. Does anybody here have any tricks or products to recommend that I can use to get rid of the stuff?
Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.

This is on a panel or on carpet or what ?
2-propanone AKA acetone is generally used to thin resins...
It will work best when warm and you will probably need to keep the area soaked for sometime before hardened resin will desolve..
test the surface you are using it on first.. it will eat or stain some materials...
If acetone wont work for your needs you might be able chip or shave the resin off, although it may leave damage to the surface...
If you screw the panel up you can always sand it smooth or add texture then paint.. you can also replace a section of carpet if need be (or just put carpet over that area.. lol..)
