anyone use DeLorme Navigation?

it was mentioned on another board and since I have my laptop with me all the time, I was just wondering if it is any good.

anyone have any experience?

Mark, I use real time GPS tracking with all of my vehicles at work. (I can watch the position of all of the fleet in real time.) From inside the vehicle, there is a screen used to assist in navagation across the desert.

My experience with this type of system is that it's a big hazard to use while the vehicle is in motion. Putting a laptop in a vehicle to operate while driving is worse than using a cell phone while you drive.

I advise against in-vehicle GPS assisted navigation unless you have a co-pilot to operate the device. And at that, it should be firmly mounted without blocking airbag opperation in case of an accident.
