I was just wondering can any sub use a sealed or ported or does it have to have certian parameters in order to decide the box. I was reading on a website and it said subs with a QTS of .2 to .4 is good to used ported if so how come boston acoustics 8.5lf only has specs for a sealed box.

'Cause Boston recommends sealed enclosures for their subs. I owned a 12.5LF and hated it. Terribly inefficient and didn't do anything particularly well (apart from blowing up on several occasions).

Well I'd love to port my subs but lightning audio doesn't give me a recommendation for a ported box if you could help me out I'd appreciate it
