You obviously dont know what you are doing if you have blown them up on 1000 watts, i have had one on 3500 for a whole year with no problems, sold it to a friend and it still works fine. And king kong the type x is not as effecient as the premier subs and is more of an sq sub.

I've been installing for 19 years. I've got trophies to prove that I know what I'm doing. What have you got?

My point was that those subs are just junk! I would take an MTX, Type X, or Atomic over Premier 3001's any day of the week. I am running DD 9110's (800 watts rms) in my car right now with 2400 watts.

At our last show, we plugged a 10" Premier into the wall. It lasted less than 3 seconds. The MTX bottom line product lasted almost 3 minutes. That says a lot about them now doesn't it?

What kind of amp did you have running that sub with 3500 watts? Pyramid? or some other Maxxsonics type of product?

I have trophies to, that dont mean nothing. And you have been installing for 19 years? Cant teach an old dog new tricks, keep installing 5 disc cd changers to stock decks and run all loudspeakers in sealed enclosures. The only MTX worth my time is a 9500 series, type x is a paper weight when it comes to spl or power, and i have seen even atomics last 5 seconds on a wall socket. My ground pounders have lasted longer on a wall socket longer then the atomics. Does that make them better? Not even close. I never have run pyramid before, nor have i worked with it, never will. Maxxsonics? what bad do you have to say about their products? For the PRICE of any of their products they beat any other brand out there performance wise. As for the amp, I ran an Ultimate T3 1000d amp @ 2ohms mono i know it wasnt exactly 3500 but substantial power enough to a 100 $ pioneer sub for a whole year.
