Avn5510 Vd Avic-d3
Question for those who have compared the 2 units...
the Eclipse AVN5510 seems to be a bit more pricey...
I went to see this unit today and everything seemed pretty decent, I just hated the fact that it stuck out (in terms of installation.. it sticks out like half an inch).
Beside it was the AVIC D3... the price was lower (about $500 or so cheaper) and the picture seemed much better quality wise....
only problem I had with the AVIC D3 is that it only has 1 CD slot and no Hard-Drive... meaning if I wanted to use the naviagtion id have to get the CD out...
The Eclipse has dual slot (one for DVD and one for music) so this problem wont exist...
But I just hated the fact that it stuck out like it did...
Now, I know the D3 is Ipod friendly... now, I dont own an Ipod myself, but I would if it would fix this issue....
Can I just leave my DVD CD inside the D3 and use the Ipod for the music (no switching between CDs) ?
If yes, how "clean" of an instal is it with the Ipod connector? Would I have to have a wire connecting the two in front of me at all times?
Thanks in advance
