bass too low???...
why are we even arguing here?

Swapping equipment isn't the best way to go. Play with what you got. How are your components installed? Doors sealed, deadened etc?
You really don't need two w7s. One would be more than enough.
Getting 8w7 for midbass is pointless, why get the sub for midbass duties?
You know what I mean?
You can try putting something into the box to make it smaller, which in turn should change the range that your subs play and should give you more punch and less low end.

Anyways, if you primarily listen to rock as you mentioned, try a smaller enclosure (you could add mdf to the inside of the box depending on how difficult it would be to do). As mentioned above, a smaller enclosure will play tighter and you should hit the high frequencies better than with a larger enclosure. What is the rms rating of your amplifier? I didn't see whether those readings were rms or peak. Rms, that should be enough to make those subs sing pretty well. You could try setting your gains higher (more bass for your rock) but lower your deck settings for rap music. Actively tweaking depending on what music you are listening to sucks, but sometimes its gotta be done.
good points, thanx for the last couple of replies dima and smoke...
I'll try the smaller box thing, i agree on the "pointlessness" of buying a sub to compensate for my subs, the 789 is the tested rms so im thinking im giving them enough power.
as for tuning I've done everything i can think of settings wise (not a total newb, just somewhat)
doors are sealed and deadened, as i said i'm happy with the front stage (volume and sound)...as much mid to tweet as i was looking for up there....
thanx for the tips, i will try box type stuff and see where that gets me.

sound is pretty subjective and often biased.....
but to you it sounds good with rap but not rock you say? its just not loud enough??... well by nature you will probably find most rock has a lot less bass then rap....
you want the sound you want... ? lol.... maybe play with some crossover/gain settings, try some EQ, more power... and maybe your box is too small....
I haven't looked at those subs anytime recently so I'm not sure what kind of box they even belong in..... but I might be inclined to say 'double your power and build a ported box and you should be happy'
If thats still not good enough I see W7s in your future.....

lemme try to explain differently...
its like the subs hits the 40-50hz range really well deep and loud
but the 50-80range it doesn't (not sure those numbers even make sense but just making a point.)

I wouldn't comment on midbass, since I've never heard that components set.

If you have time and if you want to, we can meet up for a listen, since we are both in Kitchener. Let me know. It's always fun to see someone else's install and hear it
.
