Yes, if you wanted, you could run 8 batteries. Your alternaotr will be working it's *** off and not have a full life, but it would work.
I run two batteries in the rear for my stereo, and one up front for the van. They're isolated through a solenoid switch, so when the van's off, the stereo pulls only from the rear batteries. When the engine's on, the alternator charges all three.

What about replacing my battery with something like this? It has enough CCA for my car and a lot of reserve capacity (even more than most optimas, etc).

Yea, it will work... more reserve is nice, but I guarentee it dosen't have a low low ESR like an orbital...
also the Problem with a big battery like that is that it will be more of a draw on your system while the engine is running...
