Something that has a large amount of cca's will do the job. brand name is what you pay for with optima

Red top is a starter battery i believe, meaning that its made forthose -20C days when the cars cold and wouldnt be able to start very well. The yellow top is a deep cycle batter made for applications where there is a serious demand for current. I would go with the red tops if it was me.

Red top under the hood is only better at extreme cold, and I just dont see any other pros worth mentioning. Yellow Top is still good enough for any cold you are willing to come outside for.

For extreme car audio duty, Red is horrible and will die really soon as you'll be discharging it often, and non-deepcycle nature of it will fall to it's demises. If you want reliability under the hood, Red will fail under harsh conditions, Yellow will laugh at you. It is a starter battery too, so double duty. No comparison. I still dont know why people dont see that. The info is googleble.
