I'll most likely just put a deep cycle in the back anyways. I think I ment isolator, not solenoid. An isolator will disconnect the front battery from the back when the car turns off correct?
No danger in doing this and you should get your positive source from the trunk battery too if you haven't already. To prevent alternator whine you will want to make sure the trunk battery is well connected to the charging system. There is also a procedure for upgrading the factory ground connections that you should consider, commonly refered to as "doing the big three". Its purpose is to ensure that all system grounds remain at the same relative potential (voltage). With solid power and ground connections you will be good for future expansion. Fuse the power wire at the battery end (or at both ends if you still have a battery under the hood).

Just to be thorough, what kind of car is this? What have you modified so far? What equipment is installed?
The car is a civic hatchback. I already have extra ground cables going from the block to the chassis. It seems though that my wiring wasn't the problem.I had the amp checked out and there's an issue with the subwoofer channel. Seems the woofer blew out the amp. I had it wired for 2ohm, which the amp is supposed to handle, but I guess there was too big a draw? Not sure exactly
how it happened but maybe my gain was too high? I'm still fairly new to the game. Now I'm a little hesitant with wiring a DVC sub to this amp again.
