Have a look at POR-15. Stops rust DEAD, also, you can sand and paint over it.

you can get second skin damplifier pro shipped to your door for half of what dynamat costs at a big box. Or you can get normal damplifier for even less.

36 sq. ft. of Dyna Xtreme from Sonic will run you $200 CDN shipped (tax and fees incl).

There are a few guys at the Ancaster Car Swap Meet that sell b-quiet and Dyna Xtreme in bulk packs. Worth checking out. :)

I meant if someone has to do body work after an accident for isntance, they won't want to remove the sludge before doing the repairs to the car..it will add extra costs. I was not refering to a rusted floor.

Although I was trying to remember the name of that stuff to put under my car since there is rust ...thanks! ;)

Beware of the cheap stuff. A buddy put in the stuff that was a third the price and it all melted on the first 100 degree day. F'n Tar everywhere! Ruined a couple speakers and damaged paint job getting the crap off. Still an issue 2 years later on clothes etc. IT IS NOT ALL THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE THICKNESS!!!!

I'm glad I googled for a coupon before I purchased my order!

Just ordered 250 sq feet of b-quiet and got $37 off :D

CCA coupon code saved me 10% :D

Has anyone ever tried a product called "Blue Skin"? I believe it's used a roofing tar or sealant, but people have spoke of it in vehicles..

I get the feeling it might not be healthy for anyone driving in plus 30 degrees celcius with roofing tar in there car?!?!?

And DUKK... nice answer.. I glue down cardboard though. The extra air pocket really deadens the vehicle!

Blue skin was originally designed for use on windows and doors and other wall protrusions on commercial buildings. It is not much different from say a fatmat or some of the other "deadeners" out there that are asphalt based. fatmat started out by coming from a roofing supply business and was basically cut up ice and water shield.( which blueskin is just an expensive version of)

But given that energy takes the path of least resistance, and since generating heat is harder to do than generating sound. The energy that enters the speaker will tend to manifest as an increase in sound volume from the speaker before it gets to the point of generating heat in the door.

Just to add to the "sell" :D

i think you are talking about the krown rust proofing, but onces there's rust it's pretty much in there, unless it's just surface you can try to save it, but they say once you put your hand on your car for body work, it will never be the same

as for that blue skin, i hate it (as a roofer) awesome if applied, but if you screw up laying it down you are stuck, and try laying it on a windy day
