I assume you kept the factory headunit for so long for a reason? If you are like me you like having that factory piece in the dash for factory cosmetics and an edge in stealthiness.
I suggest what I am doing: Choose an Alpine CHA-1656SP and a changer. The 1656 has line in from your factory deck so the factory unit still provides radio and then the Alpine has dual preouts for your system. Similar to an FM setup there is a hideaway box and a control face. I like this arrangement as you get linelevel quality sound on CD and it is stealthy. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]
Clarion, Pioneer, and Kenwood have all made similar systems in the past as well.
