Best way to ship from US to Canada?
#1
I am looking to buy something in the US and get it shipped to me...it is valued at around $600 and the guy will ship it however I want. Obviously I want to take the way that will cost me the least cash so I was wondering what shipping companies charge the least to cross the border and what type of fees will I have to pay? I know UPS is a huge rip off but I didn't know if fedex or usps were any better

I agree with Wedge, USPS will save you a lot on duty/customs..
I always love the unexpected fed-ex trade networks envilope I get in the mail three months after I buy something asking for double the tax amount in broker fees.

usps totally, i've been hit with too many duty charges from ups and fedex. i am unsure of dhl, but i assume they are the same as ups and fedex.

It's the cheapest. I've bought many things from the states.

definitely USPS. Also I see you live near the border - you could have it shipped to the closest MBE(Mailboxes ETC) in the USA. They charge 5$ US to receive items for you - you just have to call them and tell them it's coming and give them contact info. This way you could drive it across the border yourself.
