I was always impressed with the sound of dead head units like Alpine 7995, Sony C90, etc. BTW, there might be some still around for sale at a good price, cause they are older, and the SQ is phenomenal.

If you're intersted in oldschool, I have an alpine 7559 cassette with Ai-Net, you can put a brand new cd changer in the trunk. It was alpines best ever cassette deck, dolby B&C etc. remote too.
4 volt outputs for front, rear and sub, sub level control etc.

If you're interested i'll send you a pic and a pdf manual.

the old deadhead Alpines are awesome, I have a CDA-7998 which is incredible. Also I have a 9855 in my other car which is great SQ, sh***y working the slide touch but it is the only down side. My 7998 and 9855 have amazingly adjustable crossovers which makes all the difference.

I will soon be putting my truck together and will be swapping out my 7998 for this years Kenwood KDC-X991, we will see how they compare.

O yeah, i forgot to add the 880prs... i have one in my truck actually, and it is awesome... i love the clean brushed aluminum looks too, very clean and you can turn off the screen to make it look cleaner (and change the backlights to white... it looks so sweet)... and it has Active 3-way built in crossovers and time alignment so you dont need a seperate DSP if youre running a 3-way system... crossovers are very adjustable as well... you can change the slopes and everything easily... and the 16 band seperate L/R EQ? works awesome.... i highly suggest this deck, oh, it also has 24bit Burr Brown DAC's as well..... killer deck.

Its a great deck.. all of the eclipse are minus the CD1000 which is a very entry level.

If you want to pocket some cash - check out the Clarion DXZ775 - ~$350 - 6V out, 24bit DA, Time alignment - etc etc etc.. Great sounding deck - the EQ and TA features you need to tweak up your tunes a bit and you've got $150 bones in your pocket towards your next upgrade...

I do like the display on those new Eclipse decks thought - Have not seen one in sunlight yet though.. Anyone else?
