Best way to ship from US to Canada?
Use UPS.... get the tracking number, and fax/email their customer service stating you like to do your own customs clearance.
Only problem is you'll have to go to their office, pick up the manifests, and then goto customs to clear it and pay the taxes owed..... then you can return and pick up your item(s) while avoiding having to pay their ridiculous brokerage fees.

definitely USPS. Also I see you live near the border - you could have it shipped to the closest MBE(Mailboxes ETC) in the USA. They charge 5$ US to receive items for you - you just have to call them and tell them it's coming and give them contact info. This way you could drive it across the border yourself.
craig.

I do not believe that busses are an option for crossing the border. USPS is worth the wait...I don't know how you got dinged with a $137 charge though...

if you live near the border there is no point in paying the $5 cause UPS will hold it for free...when I am at home I am like 30 minutes from buffalo and just get them to hold the package at the UPS hub and go pick it up myself...unfortunately I am not at home right now
So UPS holds it in the USA hub or Canadian Hub? I wouldn't want them to hold it in canada because then I'd have to pay the taxes. Also, when things ship to me, sometimes they go through Windsor which is far away, but Buffalo (Peace Bridge) is 40 min away.
Thanks for the info everyone, I have some good options now
