Big 3, second battery, or cap?

Hey I am putting in a JL audio J2 1000.1 amp (1000watts rms 1 ohm) with 2 rockford fosgate punch hx-2 dual 4 ohm (wiring down to 1 ohm) in my car and I was wondering if I am going to need to do the big 3 upgrade, get a second battery to run it, or get a capacitor. (Or none of the above and I'll be fine?) Im pretty new to this so I am just asking for some input. Thanks.

Just the subs and 1kW amp? What vehicle is it going into? For beginners I would definitely do the wiring upgrade. Then see how things go.

Your Alternator is about 85 amps if it has A/C on the car. At bare minimum I would do the big 3 upgrade. It may be a better solution to upgrade the main battery instead of adding the load of a second battery for the alt to charge swell. i would say do the big 3 and put the biggest fresh battery you can fit under the hood.

I agree....it's the minimum you will need to do to feed that amp.....

If there is still a supply problem after that you will need to look at a better alt....a second battery is way down the list.

Do a big 3, then the alternator which wouldn't matter due to the fact that hondas have regulators on the alternators anyways so get a second battery and forget the cap.

Big 3 upgrade no question. But a second battery would be better then a crapacitor.
