Actually it is used as a sound deadener in commercial applications, I use to put it on exaust pipes and pump lines out west in the tar sands to bring down the noise. Exact same product just thicker depending on applications.

uhm... cuz its 400% the cost? its the same material, before i was iffy about roofing products since it was made with more asphalt. This stuff is the same (butyl) material.

"BTW, the best sound deadeners are liquid applied and cure solid. concrete is a great sound deadener----Zero flex. Hmm...concrete is used in foundations...it can't be used as sound deadener, it's not named for it, and it's cheap....I should tell all the extreme competitors that have a ton of concrete in their cars that it doesn't work and they wasted their time....."

If you are familiar with "maly fiat" (picture on the bottom) they actually did use concrete on the floor (I don't remember what system they had in that car but i know the original floor broke in half, so they reinforced it lol).

BUT that's not the point here, its about the same product sold for 4times more just because they changed a sticker on it.... especially since it's rubber- that was the main reason why i did not spend $200 on a rubber with tin foil- did not make sense! I can spend an extra buck on something IF i know I'm not throwing the money away.

hmm good old times, My parents use to own one in early 90's... it topped at 120km/h and it felt like a take off :]..... 23bhp when new :] ...
