box dimensions
I'm planning on buying 2 12" subs with these specs. Should i go ported or sealed? and why?
Are these relatively big or small boxes? I dont' have a visual.
Thanks guys
Sealed Box Volume (cu ft) 0.7-1
Ported Box Volume (cu ft) 0.75-1.75
Top Mount Depth 6-15/16"
Cutout Diameter or Length 10-15/16"

I've always run about 3 cubes for 2 10's or 12's...
But when we put together my wall for one show, we used 3 cubes for 4 10's and it worked great..
I'm quickly learning its trial and error...
If you want loud..go ported...if you want just a little thump added to the music,go sealed....
You may have to build a whack of boxes til you find the right one....
After my experience with the wall,I think I may try a smaller box for the 2 tens....if I keep the tens....

I bought 2 12" apline type R's. i dont' want to wake up the neighbours... or enter sound competitions.... I just want a good sound for my music.
so I'm guessing sealed. How will I know that the subs are getting enough air?
thanks

i've found that mostly the "specs" are a little on the small side because most companies "test" under a really conservative power. this way they cover thier '***** when it comes time for warrenties and stuff.
so my advice would be (if going sealed) to make it a little smaller if you like to hear more of the higher pitched bass, or to make it a little larger if you like to hear the low booming bass.
as for size. in most midsize cars you get about 3 to 4 ft^3 in a trunk, so a good sized box will take up at least half of the average trunk. it's all your personal preference.
